What counts as an event?
Any record that lands in a Basalt source: a Kafka message, a CDC row change, a webhook call or an SDK track call. Retries we deduplicate are free.
Do views, queries or seats cost extra?
No. Build as many views, run as many queries and invite as many people as you like. Only ingested events are metered.
What happens when I pass 1B events on Scale?
Nothing breaks. Every extra million costs $0.18, billed at the end of the month, and you get an email when you cross 80% and 100% of the included volume.
Can I set a spending cap?
Yes. Set a monthly cap per workspace and choose whether Basalt pauses ingest or only alerts you when it is reached.
Is there a discount for annual billing?
Annual Scale plans are 20% lower, at $199 a month and $0.15 per 1M events. Startups under $5M in funding get the first year at half price.
